Board and Train
This is our most popular and effective service! This is the best head-start and foundation to give your dog as you start your training journey together. While they stay with us, we tailor their training to meet your specific goals and provide you with the resources you'll need to maintain their training when they come home.
In all board and train programs, your dog will be introduced to these skills while they stay with us:

Sit, Down, & Place/Stay with distractions and duration

Walking politely on a loose leash

Waiting at Thresholds (car doors, front door, kennel door, etc.)

This online membership page is designed to help new dog owners, experienced dog owners, and trainers alike, by providing the training resources YOU need to be successful with your dog. Whether you are navigating reactivity, teaching loose leash walking, needing a guide for puppy training, or wanting to learn fun skills such as biking with your dog, the membership page has something for everyone.

Phone consultations are not meant to solve behavioral issues but simply to point you in the right direction for your goals. If you would like to discuss your dog's behavior in depth and begin a training plan, please schedule a virtual coaching call or fill out our Board & Train Application.

Coaching Call
Great for clients that are not local or who just need some extra help! We will talk in depth about your dog's behaviors and your relationship dynamics. After we identify the root causes for the issues you are experiencing, I will provide suggestions for how to restructure the interactions with your dog and help clarify any miscommunication.
Please ensure you are able to attend the call during your local time if you are in a different time zone (we are in Pacific Standard Time). You will receive the virtual meeting link in an email after booking.

Board and Maintain
If you are going out of town and would like your dog to stay in a safe, structured, and familiar environment, we offer boarding in our home. Your dog will have access to all of the amenities of country living; hiking, biking, socializing with other dogs, etc., while we maintain the same training and structure that your dog knows. Rest assured, all of the hard work you've invested will not be lost while they stay with us!
This service is for clients who have completed a board and train or have prior approval with Summit Homestead. Your dog must be crate trained before boarding.
